  1. high alpha   High angle of attack.     
  2. high-level attack   An attack initiated from above 10,000 ft.
  3. HIMAT   Highly Maneuverable Aircraft Technology.
  4. hook   The device which is lowered from the tail of a
  5.     carrier-based aircraft during the landing approach.  It
  6.     catches the arresting cable.     
  7. Hornet   Nickname of the F/A-18.  (F/A stands for Fighter/
  8.     Attack.)
  9. HOTAS    Hands On Throttle And Stick -- A control setup
  10.     which allows a pilot to perform all dogfighting actions
  11.     without removing his hands from the stick or throttle.  
  12. HSI   Horizontal Situation Indicator.
  13. HUD   Head-Up Display -- A device which projects flight
  14.     and weapons delivery information onto a transparent
  15.     screen in the pilot's line of sight through the aircraft's 
  16.     wind screen.

  19.     indicator and not corrected for error due to air density
  20.     variations caused by altitude or temperature.
